Club Background
AMHC Upward founded in 1923, is the largest hockey club of Arnhem and currently has around 1,300 members.
Offering hockey at all levels, each member has the opportunity to develop their game and enjoy the great atmosphere the club offers. The facilities include full size water-based and sand based artificial grass pitches, a club house with cafe, changing rooms and toilets.
In 2011, the Orange selection (Dutch professional field hockey teams) trained at Upward Hockey club as part of their Olympic training for the 2012 London games, where they took gold!
Club Training Facilities
Papendal sport facilities first opened its doors in the 1970’s. Set over 160 acres, with a wide range of accommodation, the facilities offer the perfect setting for a sports tour. Papendal boasts a state of the art multi-sport hall, highly esteemed as one of the best European training camp sights. Over 300 athletes use the facilities daily as the base for many Olympic and Paralympic sports. A large number of Dutch sporting federations also operate from the offices onsite.
