Inspiresport are pleased to offer a select number of schools the opportunity to compete in the U18 International Cape Town Hockey Festival. Many team sports are played at a high level throughout schools in South Africa, and hockey is no exception. We have close links with The Cape Town Hockey Festival, held in July every year for boys and girls U18 school teams from South Africa and across the globe. It is one of the leading hockey festivals internationally, and a great event to include as part of a hockey tour to South Africa.

The Cape Town Hockey Festival is a Western Province Hockey Union sanctioned event and is played in accordance with FIH standards (Federation of International Hockey), placing this event as the leading under 18 Schools Hockey Festival globally.

The majority of our tours are centred in Cape Town and the Eastern Cape, which benefits from a fantastic year-round climate, combined with so many things to do and see including the historically important Robben Island, iconic Table Mountain, beautiful Camps Bay, and the penguins at Boulders Beach. Similarly, we can offer fantastic tour itineraries from Johannesburg, taking in Pretoria, the beautiful Mpumulanga region, the famous Kruger Park, and even a short stay in Swaziland for a unique cultural experience.

For those after some warmer weather and some impressive game drive opportunities, a visit to Kwazulu Natal is a great addition to any sports tour. The largest city in the region is Durban, one of the main tourist cities in South Africa, and blessed with a subtropical climate year round and some fantastic beaches. It is also a gateway to some of the country’s national parks, including the Oribi Gorge, The valley of a thousand hills, and South Africa’s oldest game park – Umfolozi. Groups will always have the chance to experience a Game Drive, and stay at one of the spectacular game reserves that South Africa is famous for.

If you’re lucky, you may get the chance to see a live sports fixture, whether it’s one of the regional Super 15 sides, a Diamond Challenge netball fixture, or even the Springboks in action in the Rugby Championship.
